EAA accessibility statements

Accessibility statements built from real results

AccessWatch writes the accessibility statement from the latest scan and manual checks, in English, Swedish, German, Dutch or French, and updates it as problems are fixed.

The European Accessibility Act applies to many products and services offered to consumers in the EU since 28 June 2025. Service providers must describe how their service meets the accessibility requirements, and public sector bodies already publish accessibility statements under the Web Accessibility Directive.

A statement is only useful if it matches the site. Writing it once by hand means it drifts out of date with the next release. Generating it from the latest results keeps it honest.

Why statements go stale

  • Written once, never updated

A statement from launch day rarely reflects the site a year later.

  • Known problems missing

Statements should list known limitations; that means knowing them.

  • Many languages

Sites serving several countries need the statement in each language.

How it works

  • Scan the site

Automated WCAG 2.2 checks across the site's pages.

  • Add manual checks

Record what a person reviewed, from keyboard use to alternative text.

  • Generate the statement

Choose the language and contact details; known problems are listed from the results.

  • Publish and keep current

Host it with AccessWatch or export HTML or Markdown; it updates as fixes land.

What the statement includes

  • Conformance status

Based on the latest automated and manual results, not on assumptions.

  • Known problems

The problems still open, described in plain language.

  • Feedback and contact

How users can report a problem and get a response.

  • Five languages

English, Swedish, German, Dutch and French.

The statement describes the results AccessWatch and your team have recorded. It is not a certification and not legal advice; check the requirements that apply to your organization and country.

Statement questions

Does every business need an accessibility statement?

It depends on the sector, the service and the country. The EAA covers specific products and services, with exemptions for microenterprises providing services; public bodies have their own rules. Check what applies to you.

Can we edit the generated statement?

Yes. Export it as HTML or Markdown and adapt it, or use the hosted version that updates automatically.

Which languages are available?

English, Swedish, German, Dutch and French.

How often does it update?

Each time the site is scanned and when manual checks change.
